Stewart Island Lodge is an up-market bed and breakfast set in the natural beauty of native bush. Located just five minutes walk from Stewart Island’s village, the lodge is private and secluded with commanding views of Halfmoon Bay and the surrounding hills. Its extensive grounds are home to many native birds, including kaka (native parrots) which may be viewed from the terrace.

The lodge has five king or twin bedrooms. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom and ocean views, and opens onto an expansive shared balcony.

Every evening, guests are invited to join their hosts for pre-dinner drinks and a selection of local appetisers. Restaurants are available for evening dining in the village. A cooked breakfast is included in the tariff.

Stewart Island is mostly bush clad, and has many sheltered bays with beautiful sandy beaches as well as numerous offshore islands. It has a large and accessible New Zealand native bird population and is the only place in the world to spot the Stewart Island Brown Kiwi in its natural habitat.
