Located just minutes from downtown Wellington, ZEALANDIA: The Karori Sanctuary Experience is a unique and world renowned conservation attraction.

Protected from pest mammals by a unique predator-proof fence, rare and endangered wildlife live free in a beautiful, 225 hectare valley of regenerating native forest.

Experience many rare and endangered species that are usually only found on offshore islands, such as little spotted kiwi, saddleback, hihi, takahe, kaka plus many more species – all living free in their natural habitat.

A night tour departing 364 days a year gives visitors the only chance of seeing little spotted kiwi in the wild on mainland NZ.

In 2010, Wellington’s award winning ZEALANDIA eco-sanctuary was selected by UK broadsheet The Guardian as one of the top 75 green tourism companies in the world.

Being a charitable trust all proceeds received from visitors are directed towards continuing our 500 year vision of restoring New Zealand’s unique natural heritage.

A truly unique nature experience.
