The Ulva Island guided walk is the most popular in our birdwatching repertoire on Stewart Island - you are provided with a unique and close experience in native and endemic birdlife. Ulva Island is an idyllic, predator-free bird sanctuary for rare and endangered bird and plant species, a paradise for birds and bird lovers. This bird sanctuary is home to the Stewart Island robin, yellowhead, saddleback, rifleman, kaka (parrot), kakariki (red and yellow-crowned parakeet, weka (wood hen), yellow tit, tui, bellbird to name some of the prolific birdlife.
Pelagic and scenic charter boat trips are also very popular, especially for the noted varieties of albatross/mollymawks and petrels. We will also arrange kiwi spotting trips which need to be booked early to ensure your placement on this world-renowned evening excursion.
