See New Zealand with the birding experts. Run by birders – for birders.

Brent Stephenson and Sav Saville run Wrybill Birding Tours, NZ. We are experienced and passionate birders, with unrivalled, up-to-the-minute knowledge of New Zealand’s birding scene.

We know New Zealand and its birds inside out. We have sites for all the landbirds, excellent shorebird identification skills and unbeatable pelagic seabirding experience (which includes our rediscovery of the "extinct" New Zealand Storm-petrel in 2003). On top of this we enjoy having fun and showing off the splendour of New Zealand, its scenery, and other wildlife.

We specialise in custom-made tours for couples, or small groups, and can tailor your trip to fit your particular requirements (start date, duration, accommodation style, distances covered, species targeted, etc.). Tell us what you want and we will make it a reality. If bird photography is your thing, then why not do a photographic tour of New Zealand with us, guided by Brent, renowned as one of New Zealand’s up and coming bird photographers.

We also offer scheduled birding tours, and pre-trip planning advice and site information for the independent birder. If you are coming birding in New Zealand – you really need to contact us. Review your options and whet the appetite through our website.
