About Us

The New Zealand Birding Network promotes ecotourism and birdwatching in New Zealand on a sustainable ecological commercial basis, and New Zealand as a bird watching destination both nationally and internationally. The Network seeks to increase the knowledge and understanding of birds and their importance to sustainable ecological systems.

The New Zealand Birding Network is a marketing collective operating as an association, and it is a non profit organisation. All funds received are invested in marketing and promoting birding in New Zealand, both within NZ and internationally.

This is done through two initiatives:

1. The New Zealand Birding Directory (printed brochure) 
2. The New Zealand Birding Network website, including an online Directory of members

Network Membership

There is an annual membership subscription (due on the 1st October each year) which must be paid on receipt of invoice. Applications for new members must be approved by 2 existing NZB Network members, and must be made on the approved form (either the online form below, or the PDF available for download below.)

NZBN reserves the right to restrict or reject a membership application where it considers that membership would be detrimental to the existing Network association, its aims and articles of association.
