Also known as the parson bird due to it's white throat feathers and dark plumage, this honeyeater is the largest of New Zealand's three honeyeaters. It is also one of our best known and loved birds because of it's beautiful song and habit of visiting gardens to feed on nectar. Both the male and the female sing and it is an adept mimic.
